Charlie’s First Fundraising Event | Tommy’s Singathon

In January I made a new year resolution to step out of my comfort zone and pluck up the courage to take Charlie to a baby group. We started going to a weekly music based baby group and we both love it. It’s been great for getting together with other parents, and Charlie is able to learn and experience different things while socialising with other children.

I am so so pleased that I took that step, I found it incredibly difficult as I am a naturally shy person and was still going through a tough time questioning my parenting skills.

In May, all of us at the baby group will be taking part in Tommy’s Singathon, raising funds to help save other babies lives.

“1 in 4 parents lose a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth or premature birth. Tommy’s funds medical research to prevent complications and save babies lives.”

Miscarriage and stillbirth have touched my family and close friends, as recently as last month. I have never experienced this myself and cannot even begin to imagine the heartache and emotional scars that this leaves. I am amazed by the strength and bravery of the people that I have seen experience this.

I am proud that Charlie (my 11 month old son) and I will be taking part in an event set up by Tommy’s charity to raise funds to help save other babies lives.

  1. Thank you to you and your group for fundraising for such an important charity. My son was stillborn in January and the funding is vital to save babies life’s, and support those bereaved by this unthinkable loss xx
